

The Forest Protection & Land Documentation Department-Branch is responsible for surveying, mapping, and documenting Reserved Forests, Wildlife Sanctuaries, Community Forests, and other designated protected forest areas. It also conducts measurements and maintains records of upland farms, agricultural fields, and gardens located within Reserved Forest areas to support effective land and forest management.
The branch is responsible for maintaining and properly managing surveying and measuring equipment to ensure the accuracy and reliability of field activities. It also monitors forest-related activities and takes appropriate action against individuals who violate applicable forest laws and regulations.
The branch places particular emphasis on the protection and conservation of endangered tree species, flowering plants, and wildlife. These efforts aim to safeguard biodiversity, maintain healthy forest ecosystems, and promote the sustainable use and management of natural resources.
In carrying out its conservation responsibilities, the branch works closely with local communities and encourages their active participation in forest protection, restoration, and conservation activities. The Department also oversees and coordinates the work of forest rangers and forest guards by assigning duties and responsibilities according to operational needs.
