In a significant victory for environmental conservation, the Kawthoolei Forestry Department’s latest quarterly report reveals a 15% reduction in illegal logging activities across all monitored forest regions compared to the same period last year.
This positive trend is directly attributed to the recent implementation of our modernized surveillance strategies, including the deployment of drone monitoring systems and the establishment of community-led forest watch groups.
"This decrease proves that when the government and local communities work together, we can successfully protect our natural resources," stated the Director of the KFD. While there is still work to be done, the Department remains committed to a zero-tolerance policy regarding forest crimes and will continue to aggressively pursue sustainable management practices across all jurisdictions. The full quarterly report is now available for public viewing in our Publications section.
